Goofy Kids

I said my family is always making funny faces or dressing weird. Here are two of my Great Grand Kids, Kingston and Alayla. As you can tell, he does his on purpose but Alayla's mom put this thing on her head. Poor kids don't have a chance.
I will be adding more as we go along.

She is our 7th Great grand child totaling 21 Grand kids all together. I can't wait to hold her, that will be right after Christmas if the no snow weather holds out. Our trip would be from Mpls to Sioux Falls, So.Dak. It's been a good year here for shopping with no snow to keep us in. I am ready for Christmas now, well I'm done shopping and now to wrap. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas I know I will.
Merry Christmas Everyone and Peace to all

Beauty and The Beast

East View High school in Apple Valley, Mn. Rocks!! Just came from their play, it was wonderful. These teenagers are so talented, I bet we will see their names on Broadway someday. Their voices were so great! The Band was also very good, and very professional, didn't miss a beat..I'm thinking we all should support these teens in all they do the hard work it takes to put on   such wonderful entertainment.

Bring on the snow!!

Yes, bring on the snow, we need the moisture we are behind about 6". I do love the snow, I don't mind Winter, and we have to have snow for Christmas, that's why I live in Mn. I am way ahead of my usual cards out and shopping this year so I'm sure it will be much more relaxing. Now I should decide what I will bake so we all have a few treats (yummy) It will more than likely be cookies, breads and candy. And what's your favorite?

This is my favorite time of the year

The weather is cooler the first signs of Winter are in the air and it's time to get out the baking pans! I made a double batch of sugar cookies to send to my grandsons in Ms. I make the dough, freeze it solid and send it UPS. When they get it it will still be nice and cold. They roll them in sugar and bake them off. If I baked them first they would be cookie crumbs in a box because they are so delicate. Then I made banana bread and apple bread. I love the fact that all the wonderful apples are in season so out with the apple recipes. This is the time to start thinking about Halloween candy and then Thanksgiving Day. I think I love this time of the year it's when the families get together after a busy Summer. Then of coarse there is Christmas another very busy and happy time for most.We should still get our Indian Summer and watch the trees change into Mother Natures wonderful colors.

I Got Nothin

I have been trying to think of something to write about and I drew a blank. This is the time of the year that gets kind of idle here with no kids to shop for, all the gardening is done, ready to eat it or can it. Now the State Fair starts this week in Mn. Fun for all the Fair goers. We haven't been there for years, it's just to crowded for us and we sure don't need all that yummy greasy food. I'm having a garage sale this week at a friends house, OMG I didn't  realize just how much (STUFF) I have to get rid of, well that's a lie...I have known for years! We have been here for 40 years and are trying not to leave too much for the kids to throw out. One good thing about cleaning out is finding things you have been looking for for years, lot's of fun surprises. I stay away from boxes of pictures or my day is wasted reminiscing. Everyone enjoy the weather and don't work too hard.

Little Farmer Part 2

The other day I posted the little guys picture and I wrote a story but this posting was not working for me, so here's the story. The farmer Xavier helped his mom carry the veggies up to the house in his back pack. Emptied it on the floor and started sorting it like Halloween candy (that's how his mom explained it) and eating it. He doesn't know yet that he shouldn't like vegetables like most kids do at this age. I'm thinking he will be the only other one that likes gardening like mom.

Everything is Beautiful

Now that Summer is finally here and the plants are growing strong, it's great to just sit around and enjoy them...Except the weeds are growing great also. I have been busy watching my great grandson for 3 weeks and we spend most of the days outside. He is 3 years old and very busy which is probably the reason I lost 6#. Now I think if he stayed for a few more months I could be looking pretty good. Our Raspberries look like we should have lot's of them, they were planted last year, I hope to make more Jam, thanks to my grand daughter who gave the plants to us. We have relations here now from Texas, they think they need sweaters here. And  I went to the Farmer's Market today, it's so nice to see all of  the fresh organic veggies.
So what did you all do today?

This is pictures of my husband and 2 great grandsons with their horses, yes my husband Bob is really into riding now that he has his own horse. And it's true he talks more to her than me, I think it's because there is no back talk. These horses are all out to my daughters farm, and it's about 44 miles from us and with gas prices so high he doesn't get out there as much as he would like. Now that all the plants are planted all he has to do is mow the lawn that gives him more time for riding. Bob bought me a new weed whacker, cordless, self feed, the old one was always stopping to re feed the cord, what a pain and the cord had to be so long it was always tangled with something in in the yard. If anyone is looking for plant stands or shelves for their garden, check out my store http://www.gardeningwithmolly.com so how does your garden grow?

Minnesota

Here I sit complaining about a rainy day, and then I see on the news how bad the floods are as the great Mississippi goes South through all the State and floods everyone out. I can't imagine having that happen to my home. I guess I will just relax and wait for a nice sunny day to do some planting. I started some Seeds inside and they are growing really fast. Yesterday I baked 4 loaves of Rhubarb Bread, it turned out very good and yummy.
We found out our Apple Trees have some kind of black rot, so we have never had a season with good Apples. We just may cut them down. I hope my Pear Trees don't end up that way. Well back to doing nothing and I do that really good.

A Great May Day

May 1st. a day we will all remember as the day we won in finally bringing down Bin Laden, it will not bring back all the losses he made for so many Americans, but it's a start.
There are still so many of his followers out there we will be on guard in keeping our Nation safe. Now is the time to say prayers to our God  to keep our Armed Forces safe.

It's really ugly out there

The snow is almost gone the grass under the snow is so ugly from a few left over leaves and all the snow mashing down the lawn.I see a few trees that are trying very hard to bud out, the days go from 30 to 60 degrees and that will go on for a while now because that's the way it is in Mn.
We planted Raspberry Plants last year and I'm anxious to see if they made it through the Winter.Just thinking about them makes me hungry for Raspberry Desserts. Our Pear trees are still small but look like they survived the weather.
Clematis is one of my favorite climbing flowers, we have white, pink, and purple. Now the purple ones get very big and thick so I try to keep them on our side of the Trellis but they sneak over to the other side for the neighbors to enjoy.
